Today’s podcast was recorded during my daughter’s naming ceremony on January 7th, 2025. Some cultures, regardless of religious affiliation, celebrate a naming ceremony after the child is born, while in Canada and most Western nations, it is common to know a child’s name even before the child is born, whether Christian or not. We have cultural traditions whether we see them as traditions or not. In the West, the tradition is often to share the child’s name before or on the day of birth, and that’s their tradition. In my culture, it is common to have a naming ceremony one week after birth, whether Christian or not. I hope you will be touched by the sermon preached on that day. Stay blessed.
